Alvar Aalto 1898–1976 is a beautiful, limited edition booklet about Alvar Aalto’s (1898–1976) versatile career. The booklet was originally issued by the Museum of Finnish Architecture in 1978. The editors, architects Aarno Ruusuvuori and Juhani Pallasmaa, the two influential directors of the Museum at the time, have succeeded in composing an elegant portrait of the Finnish Maestro.
The richly illustrated catalogue covers all his creative areas from painting and architecture to lamp design and writing. It also includes a translation (see our current language editions in the product variations) of the much-admired essay on creative work “Trout and the Stream” originally published in Domus in 1947.
